Cradle of Filth

Few bands have left a mark on extreme metal quite like Cradle of Filth. Formed in Suffolk, England in 1991, Cradle of Filth carved out a sound and identity entirely their own—melding extreme metal with gothic atmosphere, theatrical excess, dark romanticism and an unmistakably British sense of the macabre. Led by Dani Filth, the band became one of the most recognisable names to emerge from the underground metal scene of the 1990s. Albums such as The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, Dusk and Her Embrace and Cruelty and the Beast didn’t simply build a following—they helped define an era.
