ABOUT HEAVY T CO.

Trapped At The Bottom Of The World

Let’s be honest.

Being a music fan in South Africa can be a pain in the ass.

You discover a band. You fall in love with the album. You find the perfect shirt. Then you see the shipping cost. Then the customs fees. Then the delivery estimate. Then you quietly close the browser and stare into the distance while questioning your life choices.

We’ve been there.

More times than we’d like to admit.

Heavy T Co. was born from that frustration.

Not from a business plan, investors or focus groups.

Just from a simple idea:

South African fans deserve access to great merchandise without having to sell a kidney to pay for shipping.

Built By Fans

We’re not corporate. We don’t have a boardroom. Nobody here has ever used the phrase “market penetration strategy” without immediately needing a shower afterwards.

We’re fans. The kind of fans who still buy albums. The kind of fans who spend hours digging through Bandcamp. The kind of fans who know exactly what it’s like to discover a band at 2 AM and spend the next week telling everyone about them whether they asked or not.

We started Heavy T because we love music.

Everything else came later.

Why We Chose The Hard Road

There was an easier way to do this.

Trust us.

We know.

Instead, we chose licensing agreements, artist approvals, royalty reports, contracts, emails, more emails, and occasionally enough emails to make us question our own sanity.

Why?

Because bands deserve to be paid.

It’s really that simple.

The music we love didn’t appear out of thin air.

Real people created it. Real people wrote those songs. Real people made those records. Real people drew that artwork.

If we’re going to build something around their work, they deserve their share.

We believe fans deserve authentic merchandise.

We believe artists deserve fair compensation.

Those shouldn’t be controversial ideas.

Quality Before Quantity

Heavy T was never built to print a million shirts.

We’re not interested in becoming a giant factory pushing out whatever happens to be trending this week.

We care about quality.

The artwork.

The shirts.

The print.

The details.

The things most people don’t notice until the package arrives and they realise:

“Damn. This is actually nice.”

Every design we release is something we’d proudly wear ourselves.

If it isn’t, it doesn’t make the cut.

Simple.

No Big Bands. No Small Bands.

One of the things we care about most is giving every artist the same respect.

You’ll find international artists and South African artists standing side by side here.

Not because one is more important than the other.

Because they aren’t.

A great band is a great band.

Whether they’re playing to fifty people in a local venue or thousands at a festival, they deserve the same chance to be discovered.

Maybe you’ll arrive looking for a legendary doom band and leave with a shirt from a South African band you’ve never heard before.

Maybe the opposite happens.

Good.

That’s exactly how music scenes grow.

That’s exactly how communities grow.

Building Something Bigger Than A Store

Heavy T isn’t just about selling shirts.

It’s about connecting fans and artists.

It’s about helping bands reach listeners.

It’s about helping fans discover new music.

It’s about proving that being at the bottom of the world doesn’t mean being left out.

Every band that trusts us with their name.

Every fan that trusts us with their order.

Every shirt worn at a gig.

Every conversation started because someone recognised a logo.

That’s what we’re building.

One shirt at a time.
