Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa is a Swiss-based gothic duo formed in 1990 by German musician Tilo Wolff, who was later joined by Finnish singer Anne Nurmi in 1993. Starting as a pioneer of the Neue Deutsche Todeskunst (New German Death Art) movement, the band evolved from minimalist dark wave to a complex blend of gothic rock, heavy metal, and classical orchestration. Most of their lyrics are written in German, exploring themes of melancholy, love, and existential despair.
